Martha Hanlon

Martha was Chair of the Board of Directors for the Electronic Messaging Association and a member for over four years. She is a sought-after speaker at conferences and customer events, an occasional writer and a contributing author of a book on marketing in the dental industry. She holds an MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. from Duquesne University.

 

Nina Burns

Nina Burns is a serial entrepreneur and executive consultant. She has over twenty years experience working with marketing executives and their enterprise customers to identify customer need, to articulate value and to communicate the value of products and services to rapidly changing markets.

Nina has launched and successfully managed several startups since 1979. She has actively participated in shaping the industry and facilitating the adoption of eBusiness technology. She has served on industry, government and standards boards, actively participated in industry associations and conferences and developed ground breaking research and educational programs.

She was a leader in the Electronic Messaging Association/eBusines Forum, and served in various capacities, including Vice Chair of the Board of Directors, Founder and Chair of the LAN Messaging Committee, Member of the Board of Directors, Member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors. She chaired the advisory board for the Defense Message System and was industry advisor to the Joint Electronic Commerce Program Office, a joint Defense Information System Agency (DISA) and Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) program. She also chairs the DoD Directory Infrastructure Advisory Committee. She was a founder of the industry association for groupware, the MHS Alliance. She was also a charter member of the ASP Industry consortium.


 

Jodie Charlop


Jodie Charlop is a senior consultant with Authentic Marketing bringing 17 years of experience in internal/external communications, public relations, branding and channel management in both corporate and agency settings. Jodie works with clients to build or reengineer public relations and marcom functions aligned with core business units, such as sales, marketing and product marketing/management to achieve cost efficiencies and drive results.

Her Work Difference: Pragmatic and candid, Jodie believes that most PR programs are fundamentally broken because they are not aligned to the business units they must support to drive tangible results. Jodie demands results at two levels – helping clients to boost short-term results while aligning the internal infrastructure to build sustainable momentum to support corporate business plans.

Prior to joining Blanc and Otus, Jodie served as Vice President of Corporate Communications for Acsys, Inc., $170M information technology and financial services company with 40 offices nationwide. There she managed CEO positioning, public relations/investor communications, and advancing the company's strategic partnerships with key ERP players, including SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, and JD Edwards as well as with CRM market leader Siebel.

Before Acsys, Jodie served as Vice President of the Corporate Practice in the Atlanta office of Fleishman-Hillard Public Relations. Jodie was responsible for new business development and client service for the Atlanta office's $1.2 million corporate communications practice.

Jodie earned a B.A. in international studies from Emory University and is currently pursuing a Masters of Science (M.S.) and Specialist in Education degree (Ed. S.) at Georgia State University to enhance her knowledge of advancing human capital in today’s rapidly changing organizations.

Jodie has received numerous industry awards including the Public Relations Society of America's Award of Excellence for reengineering the communications infrastructure for a major national trade organization.


 

Caroline Howell

Caroline Howell has 10 years of corporate communications and public relations experience focused on the technology and telecommunications industries. Her work experience includes senior-level corporate PR positions at MCI and NorthPoint Communications, in addition to PR agency experience with enterprise clients including HP NetServers,Autodesk and Alphablox.

Her Work Difference: Caroline is known for her ability to ramp up quickly on new technology and understand her clients’ objectives and PR needs. She has an approachable style and enthusiastic attitude that make her a great team leader. Caroline has a knack for translating corporate messaging into an executable communications plan that brings true value and results to her clients.

Caroline has developed communications programs for companies ranging from Fortune 100 to start-ups including the implementation of media strategies for NorthPoint's IPO and international joint venture, as well as MCI's proposed merger with BT and then Worldcom. During her four years at MCI, Caroline helped launch MCI's Internet services including Web hosting, managed intranet and security services, and helped implement MCI's Internet strategy to become a $2 Billion Internet company by the end of the century. She also has in-depth experience creating executive visibility and speaking programs, corporate messaging and industry analyst relations. Caroline holds a B.A. in politics from Wake Forest University.
